Our Cornish Rivers are remarkable and varied, The Tamar, for example, is a border and the Fal is home to oyster fishing, the last industry in Europe still operating solely under sail.

In this unit pupils;

  • travel on a river in their locality and map the shape of the river

  • investigate how species in and around the river are adapted to their environment and depend on other organisms for their survival

  • devise and present a ferry trip commentary for their local river
