The flying machine invention of Cornishman Richard 'Mad' Pearce predates the more widely recognised claims of the first unassisted flight by the Wright Brothers.

In this unit Pupils ;

  • investigate which travel types are most commonly used in their community and suggest reasons for their popularity

  • plan a journey to a mystery specification such as green, traditional, fast or healthy

  • 'virtually' transport themselves on a journey aound Cornwall using green screen film technology
